Three Examples of Good Author Bios

When it comes to author bios, sometimes seeing a good one will help you to create your own. These author bios are completely made up – as are the author’s names – but they are good author bios that include the relevant information and make people want to read the books written by the author. That is, after all, the goal of an author bio; most people are reading your bio to get to know more about you, and if they like what they read, there is a decent chance that they will end up buying one of your books. Let’s look at three short examples of author bios to help you write yours.

Fiction – Jackie Winters

Jackie Winters wrote first book when she was just six years old. It was about a rabbit and her mother was the only person read it. But she knew even back then that she would become an author. After having kids of her own, she decided that she wanted to write for children, and she has been recognized by her local library for her talent in writing and educating children. Jackie writes with that are funny, sweet and exciting. She remembers what it was like to be a kid and you can tell with every character she creates. Jackie lives in Fort Lauderdale, Florida with her husband, three children, two dogs, goldfish and a horse named Marnie. She attends writer’s conferences and meet-and-greets all over the world and loves talking to her fans.

Fiction – Chis Kramer

Chris Kramer loved scaring his little brother when he was growing up – mostly because he was pretty scared of the dark himself. Chris turned that passion to the page and now writes some of the scariest horror novels out there. He loves ghosts, zombies, deranged killers, monsters and all of the other things that go bump in the night. He has a MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Toronto, and he lives in a cabin deep in the heart of Yukon Country. He has been called the “Edgar Allen Poe” of his generation and loves writing surreal fiction that sucks the reader in like a portal to another world.

Nonfiction – Charles David, M.D.

Charles David is a General Practitioner that has more than 20 years of experience helping patients lose weight. With so many weight loss books on the market, he found it difficult to justify writing his own, but when his own patients tried his weight loss program and found incredible success with it, he knew that he had to share his plan with the world. Now, Dr. David travels around the country giving lectures and promoting his plan, which has now helped thousands of people drop pounds that they have been carrying around their entire life.
